A Language-Implementation Language (1)

A lot of the language is implemented in itself. All the following features are implemented in the language itself, and are not ‶built-in″:

  • all operators,

  • all its text processing (excepting only the regular expression text pattern matching, which uses the Java library),

  • all markup language processing: SGML, XML, MicroXML, Json and BML markup language parsers, and

  • many of the other features of the language, such as multi-phase processing and patchable print streams.
