Two major design decisions are still up in the air, and both of the reasonable alternatives have been implemented in both cases, selectable by a user-specifiable option:
unicode selects between Java-style 16-bit characters, and full 21-bit Unicode characters.
box selects between using machine primative types for numbers and characters, and ‶boxing″ all values as objects.
The defaults are:
