An example of the effect of speed, memory size and early design decisions:
OmniMark: A (brand-new) late ’80’s Macintosh desktop with a whopping 2 megabytes of RAM.
Bobbee: A (seven-year old) Mac laptop with a measly 4 gigabytes of RAM.
With the continued increase in the capabilities of computer hardware, one should expect new languages to appear on a regular basis. The only difficulty with that is that more richer languages take more time to implement.
